 The APTE method

  • Use the functional and systemic reasonning

Before performing any diagnosis or looking for any solution, it is necessary to define precisely the purpose and objectives. This must be done without any preconceived solution, by questioning the existing solution in order to open all possible solutions. The studied object is replaced in its use environment (product, process…) in order to express the functions in services to be provided to the users.

  • Differentiate what is useful from what is useless

For each service to be provided, the APTE method characterises the expected QUALITY level (users satisfaction criteria). On the basis of the functional specifications, it allows identify the quality or means gaps of the current solutions (Value and means diagnosis).

At the final step of products design, the solutions will reach the expected quality level at the lowest cost/resources.

  • Develop a creative, participative and multidisciplinary approach

The approach is based on working and reflection groups that gather all the ACTORS involved in the project. The aim is to involve them upstream in the project as from the objective definition, to guide them all along the project but also point out their economic liability for the means design. The creativity lives in the interaction of different individuals and skills.
